I'm thinking of painting my rear swaybar. I have a spray can of red paint wating. What do you think, should I do it?

I'm going to leave it on and just unhook it for off-roading. Just 2 bolts. I thought about that, though.

Be aware that unhooking and rehooking the swaybar from the endlinks repeatedly will wear out those bolt-through bushings. I had to get new endlinks once to replace the bushings ($8 each).

As for painting it, unless you're gonna do a really good job of sanding, priming, sanding, painting, sealing, etc; it will look like crap in a few months. I say leave it black.

Leave it like it is

Wow Doc ! Did you just have the underside detailed? :D
Mine hasn't looked like that since it was new ! If you keep it that clean, painted may look alright.

im with alec on this one; if youre gonna spend some time and do it right, i say go for it, but if not, then just leave it. the saleen ones come in red - theres a few guys with them on theor trucks, so poke around and youll prolly find some pics of em.

Actually I just washed it a few days ago. Around here, even regular driving gets you car dirty from all the dust.

i painted mine red. looks awesome! and looks the same as the day i painted it.

i just sanded and painted. no need to prime b/c there's already paint on there.

i'll e-mail ya the pic if ya want. just e-mail me and tell me.

It could look good, I don't know if I would go with white. I painted my diff. cover over a year ago and it has held up real good. I just sprayed brake cleaner on it, let it dry and 2 coats of rust-o-leum. Turned out nice.

I say paint it. Painted underbody pieces always make trucks look better.
