Armed with: haynes manual, standard tools, 2 ton jack, car ramps

As the subject reads... should i? I've never done the job myself.. therefore.. i've never done HALF the stuff i've done to the X so far and its gone pretty well. Would car ramps be stable enough for me to get under? (i'm concerned about tired width). I can fit under the truck fine while its on the ground but i figure i'll need the extra leverage. Once i get under am i gonna have problems removing the bolts? its always my luck that i get down to the last bolt and it wont budge. Any advice would help.

Its really not that hard to do.

Ramps will make it very difficult for you to get the jack under the engine

It goes like this:
Loosen the transmission mount
Loosen both engine mounts from engine (1 bolt per side)

Put jack under oil pan, use wood to distribute the weight.
Jack up the engine JUST enough to clear the mounts.
Unbolt the mounts from the frame, remove and replace.

When you jack up the engine you have to be careful.
You dcont want the fan going into the radiator.
You dont want the engine or anything hitting the firewall
You dont want to tweak the exhaust

Its pretty easy to do, just be careful.
