Ok, so what date are you planning on??? Any time before May is going to be rough for me due to exams, but I may make one day anyway. Just thought I'd throw out another event in case others couldn't make one of those you are planning. :)

Jim,
The 2 dates are April 6th and April 27th. i go back to Illinois again on the 28th so thats why they are earley in the year.

Cool, is there a date when more people are going than the other? With 5 pages now its hard to keep track:confused:

So far ...the 6th is the better day.

The first page has a listing of everyone who has confirmed they are going...

LOL, more on the 6th the better

Something for you guys to consider... Silver Lake sand dunes is implementing a no-tolerance, 94 decibal noise limitation on all vehicles this year. I have yet to test my F-150 but I am quite certain it will be over 94, so I am left with a connundrum, do I go but ride passenger with someone else? Do I buy a new exhaust system with a more sound dampening muffler, or what? Just something to consider, hopefully I"ll get to test the decibals out before too long here and I'll know for sure what kind of changes I'd have to make.

I don't know, 94db is pretty darn loud. I would think as long as you have some sort of muffler on your truck you would be ok. Plus, I would have to believe they will measure the sound at idle, which would help.

Eric

Nope..it's not at idle...check out this link

94db is NOT that loud, some of the people with F-150's that have been testing theres have found theres to be well over 100 db, and mine is the loudest exhaust on an F-150 I know of (you can hear it from down the street when its started up in the morning LOL). My "muffler" is more is more of a glasspack then anything.

94 db really isn't that loud, especially at WOT. Heck, my work is about 94 dbs. I don't think my heep would be "legal" there, but we'll see. It just has a huge low growl, not really a loud rumble.

Damn...looks like you might have to bring the X!;)

Matt, just clamp a cheap standard muffler on it. Seen some for $20 at auto parts store.

hey now, nothing "cheap" or "standard" goes on my F-150, you know better! LOL j/k

Well then I guess sticking a potato in the pipe ain't gonna hack it either.

LOL until it shoots out and hits the guy checking the decibals... I think I'd loose my deposit, LOL

Dang! I forgot they had that new rule....
Well, is there anything you could add to quiet it down a bit? If it does not pass, I would feel really bad, but you could ride with me or someone else who's got open seats...

<Silver Lake's new rule :shoot: >

Cookout?

The idea of a cookout came up before, and it looks as though the 6th is the more popular day so is anyone who is going that day still interested in cooking up some lunch or dinner while we are there? Just an idea...if not there are resturants within 5 miles.

I'm game for a cookout...let me know...I can bring the filets!;) No...but...if someone wants to do this, fill me in on what to bring.

Thats fine with me...I can bring a little gas grill or a small charcoal grill or something. People just need to fill me in on what they want..hamburgers/hotdogs are easiest. Maybe people can start offering up what they would like to bring (beverages, chips, condiments, etc.)...and I could fill in the rest. I can bring the burger/dogs, buns. Everyone respond on this matter.
