Thanks.....

Not sure I understand what you're saying... You're sure that its a line in on the back? Also, bust out your owners manual and see what is has to say about Line In or Aux. Input. I've never used a JVC deck with a setup like this, but i've done it with Kenwoods and Pioneers. (Similar setup to running the sound for an aftermarket DVD player through the system)

Unfortunately, I no longe have the manual. Help, anyone.....

Thanks.....

I found an online copy of the manual. The Line In jacks are factory set at ) and are user adjustable. I shall give it a whirl tomorrow. I do not like the wire out the front.

I have tried everything and still the rear Line Ins just don't work.

I found how to adjust the HU's Line In level and it still does not work.

Damn......

Hey Al.. give me the model number for your JVC head unit. I'll call the Crutchfield tech guys that I know and see if I can help you out... Sorry, but I can't remember the specifics about your unit.

AOL SN: Yeup

Or just email me bgwilson@vt.edu

Sorry Al... the only aux input on your deck is the mini plug that you're looking at on the front. This is done this way so people can plug in portable MP3 players or whatnot and not have to hard wire something. I wish I could tell you something else.. but the RCA's on the back of the deck are all output jacks.

Sorry, your info is incorrect.

The rear has 2 sets of RCA outputs, 1 set of subwoofer outputsm and 1 set of RCA inputs.

Ok.. maybe this... Sony decks have a bus-audio in on the rear that is an RCA... This is used for sending the signal from a cd changer. Always thought it was wierd b/c you have to run an RCA type cable and a changer control cable back... maybe your setup is like this?

UPDATE:

Problem solved. The rear Line IN and the rear speaker Out were misslabled. Switched them and all is well.

It is nice not to have such a mess of wires showing.
