I was just kinda wondering...

Will a Class II 8 inch lift thru Skyjacker for the Ranger fit an Explorer. A few techies from here are a little conservative about trying to intergrate Ranger Lifts to Explorers.

I want to lift the crap out of my Eddie Bauer with a Class II Lift. Any comments are welcomed. Thanx!

Yes.

Thanks...

Where did you find an 8" class II? I have only seen 6" class IIs and 8" class I's. Might think about an SAS. Can achieve much more lift without the reprocussions of the D35.

For as much as you will spend on that lift and gears. You could have done a solid axle swap. Get rid of the Dana 35.
I had the same plan for my daily driver (8" Ranger lift) and decided real quick against it.

Why Brian? Around here in Hawaii, there's not much places to do rock crawling or any serious off-roading. DLNR has got all the "hairy" trails pretty much closed off. Only thing I'm looking at for now is sandy beach driving or sand drags. Plus, just in case I want to get rid of the truck, I can off load the lift and sell the truck stock with the original IFS. But that's me. Looking forward to your reply bro... also congrats on the new baby.

Maybe I read the part number wrong. Yes, its only 4" and 6" Class II. Sorry.

With the 8" class II you only get drop down radius arm brackets. The extended radius arms serve more purposes than just flex. Street manors, steering, and ride are greatly effected. I think the best way to go in your case would be a Superlift 5.5" with extended radius arms or 6" Skyjacker class II with a 2 or 3" body lift. This will give you the height of the 8" with the lower center of gravity and much better ride. I highly recomend the Superrunner steering with any kit. Man, what a difference. With any ranger kit you will have to lift the rear on your own. The ranger comes from the factory with the springs over the axle and the Explorer is Spring under.

I don't know your time frame but I have a Superlift 5.5" kit (6" custom springs), superrunner radius arms, RS 9000 shocks, and superrunner steering that I will be selling shortly. The steering and front springs are about a year old but the rest of the lift is three months old. The only thing you would have to do is a spring over axle for the rear lift, rear shocks, extended brakes lines, and a body lift.

Right back at ya!

Hey thanks for the congrats. I have nothing against the Dana 35 except for its wonderful ability to eat up bearings and hubs with larger tires. Thats really the only reason I went a diff. route.

Stompah, you've got mail!
