Like a lot of people here, I've been having an on going problem with the annoying clunk from the drive shaft. However, I finally found a cure. Was greasing the drive shaft one day and next to my tool box was a racquetball. Was looking at it and an idea came across me.
The size of the ball looked exactly the size of the slip yoke. So I took the racquetball and with some great force got it all the way to the end of the yoke. Put it all back together, and took her for a drive. What do ya know, the clunk is gone. Been driving her this way for almost six months now and so far, no more clunk. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that this is a permanent fix.

Have you any photos or diagrams?

No photos, but there's a youtube video on how to do it, except that he had to cut it down to size in order to get it too fit.

FYI, was measuring the racquetball and it was 57mm. The slip yoke opening is 35mm or 1 3/8". Now I know why it was such a tight fit.

So you stuff it inside, correct?

Yes, you might have to cut it down to size or just find a 35mm rubber ball and put it all the way to the end of the yoke

Thank you Rick
