Tomorrow I plan on greasing my driveshaft slip yoke, to hopefully eliminate a clunk before i tear into the front end :(

Some Questions:
1) What is the best grease to use? Some people say "White Lithium," which I have in a spray can. Others say "wheel bearing grease." What are the pros/cons of each, and what's the difference between standard grease?

2) What are the diameter of the clamps that people have used to replace the boot after the ford clamps have been cut?

Thanks,
Aaron

Dude, so sorry i forgot to post this(IDIOT). My best friend works at a dealer so i took it in the other nite and rotated the tires on the lift. While on the lift we checked everything out and we're like... OHH yeah, check out that slip joint on the driveshaft. Sure as ****, it was BONE dry, didnt even look like it had grease in it. Put on a whole **** load of wheel bearing grease in, and WAALLLLA, no more, jerky clunky sound at a full stop. So, yeah, i see no problems with wheel bearing grease and think white lithium would not be thick enough. And to put the boot back on, we just zip tied it back on, has held for now.

I used white lithium grease because that's what I heard people say to use. I don't think it really matters as long as you have some kind of lubrication in there. As for the clamps, I'm not sure what size I used. I just measured it with my hand (about the same diameter as my middle finger and thumb touching) but I guess it depends on your hands. I would guess somewhere between 2" and 2.5". It's better to go too big than too small because you can always trim it down.
