my 98 4x4 sohc is slipping in reverse only, here's the storey transmission was reconditoined less than 5000 miles ago, yesterday i had to tow a trailer less than 1000 lbs up a very steep and very short hill 20 yards only thought i would be smart and use low range, got to top of hill back to auto, rubbish to tip backto house drove car and trailer down hill un hooked trailer, still in auto went to reverse up hill no go no loud bang or anything untoward engine revs up car was holding itself on hill but not moving, put it into low range drove up the hill as expected. it drives normally in drive, in reverse it will go backward on level ground but attempt to accelerate you get the slipping clutch feeling that you get with a manual (revs rise but no increase in speed)

some help would be seriously appreciated,

i drove the car today and all seems to be back to normal, it was the first time i had used low range since the rebuild but still no idea of what caused the problem
