At around 60,000 miles I developed an intermittant slow start problem. This seems to occur mainly when low on gas. It can take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to start when this happens. Usually when I hold my foot on the gas for about 5 minutes then start again it starts right up. Also, I noticed that the gas gauge always says it has a 1/4 tank more gas than it actually has. So I'm wondering if I've actually been almost on empty when I thought I had at least a 1/4 tank. However, now that I'm aware I always make sure that I have at least a 1/2 tank and notice that it still happens from time to time. I've had a diagnostic done and supposedly it showed no problems. It only happens once in a day and usually after truck has been sitting. After one slow start truck is fine. I've used various fuel injection cleaners but it doesn't seem to help. The oil is changed regularly and I've just had a tune up. It now has 82,600.00 miles and other than this problem runs great. However, I would appreciate any suggestions because of course this happens whenever I am already running late.
