Slowly building up my budget!

I just have stock susp. and I run 31X10.5X15's you can see my pictures here: http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/gg260/Iceking007/Truck Pictures/ I think they look great next year hopefully before summer hits I'll have a 5" lift installed and I plan on running 33's. I would not worry about the width sticking out from the 10's to 12's they would look good and alittle more beafier if you ask me... but this will show you what the diameter will look like if you have any kind of lift (ie 1-3) it would look ok probably 1-2 would be the best give you nice clearance.... however if you go 3 or more it might look alittle funny OFF of the trail, so keep that in mind!! Hope this helps :p::salute:

Thats a great looking truck! Thanks for the advice. BTW, the "new high beams", are they HID's? They look clearer that the old high beams.

Thank you I appreciate it. The "Stock Lights" are still just stock but I'm running Halogen GE Night Hawk Headlamps in them and they are good, except they both went on me last week and I just bought them in Sep, So I'm taking them back I still have reciept, the Hella's are just 100W Halogens also but I can use bigger bulbs if I want however, I am also able to install an HID kit, and thats why I did it this way... The Rallye 4000 HID's will run you about 600 dollars and I can get an HID conversion for my Halogen for around 200 a pair so 400 for both sets and I spent less on the lights them selves... plus the Black looks better on my Explorer than the Red (Rallye HID's) they are non Defracted lenses and I specially ordered them like that the centers are Pencil Beams and the two outters are Euro Beams (first two EVER sold in Canada) And I just put on my Mudders today for the summer so I'm excited to hit the trails now that I got rid of those ugly winters... more pictures to fallow soon!! lol :p::salute:

Oh icy what you mean.... if you open my pictures up to full page they have descriptions on them... also there are two pages with pictures on them and they show more of my truck as it looks today!!

31s look great! For some reason I was thinking small stock tires... Iceking007, nice vehicle!

My hubby came home and told me not to bother lifting my X cause he had promised one of his employee that he will give it to him and his family. :( But, he told me to look for a new(er) SUV for me to drive and that he will give me a budget to lift that one instead. :D Does anyone know if the '02 X's could be lifted to fit 33's? How much lift would I need to clear the tires? And what brand would y'all recommend? Thanks guys!

how about an 03 instead? 33s are a really tight fit, but one person here has done it so far.
you only get one option for lifting 3rd gens - coilsprings.com

I actually would like another 1st gen, I saw one listed in Craigslist that I want really bad. Im almost positive he's a memeber on this forum as well. He drives a green 94 X xlt with a 7" lift. I remember seeing a picture of his truck being built in his garage. I just dont know where I saw it at and the search feature can only give me so much. Can anyone help? I know he's from Surrey or maybe North Van area. Here's a pic of his truck, Thanks!

Hey, I might buy that! :) That would be a good choice seeing that there's not much to do with a 3rd gen other than wash it a lot (jk). Buuuuuy it! :)

It seems like a nice truck but Im worried about the tranny leak that he was talking about. Especially since Aamco just rebuilt the tranny last august and it already leaks. My hubby says the seals are cheap, its the labor that will kill ya! Is that true? What am I looking at (costwise) if I decided to take on this challenge? And can it be done within 1 day? Im planning on meeting him at the Aamco place where he got his tranny fixed to see what the story is. Any advice?

Take hubby.

He told me to look at it last. :( He insists that I get something newer and maybe lower miles. He says he'd rather get a '95-'01 and then spend some for a NEW lift rather than a '94 already lifted but with tranny problems. I guess he's right, considering I just spoke with someone from Aamco and they said its gonna cost roughly around $650 (at a bare minimum) and upwards to get the leak addressed properly. The search continues!

Dang! You all worked that out nicely... So what's next? You have an idea of which 2nd gen you'd like? There's a black one here somewhere, I'll see if I can find it and post the link. You're gonna lift it and all?

Here it is... I don't know if the white one is a 1st or 2nd gen, but they are both excellent!

Man, thats what I like! That black 2nd Gen looks awesome. Thanks for the link!!! What are the differences with the 2nd Gens? Hubby would like to get as newer as possible for the budget (+/- $6000). I figured, I'd like to budget 3,500-4000 on the truck then the rest on the lift. I've seen decent looking ones on Craigslist but nothing that actually catches my eye yet.

I can't speak to the technical aspects, but my 1st gen and 2nd gen differed in appearance mostly... the second gen had a rounded exterior and dash, and I still think the 2nd gen has the best interior between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd... double din stereo in the 2nd, the 1st I believe was a single din... the engine/motor sounded louder on the 1st than the 2nd, that's about all I can say... all three gens, a lotta fun!

Well, Im scheduled to look at a White '97 tomorrow. Its got 145K kms and a 3" lift on it already! :D The guy's asking $3500 for it and he says it has "no problems" but we'll see. Keep you posted. Im keeping my fingers crossed!
