Sluggish door unlock via remote

cfd911 said:
hey al maybe this will help i hope?

on our ford ambulances the remote door lock actuators seem to be sluggish not both doors it s usually 1 or the other, the mechanics usually end up replacing the weak one, the button usually seems like it wants to go up but not enough power to or it takes 2 or 3 times then it will accuate.

good luck

I have twenty five bucks says a new actuator and the problem is gone

are both doors doing it ?

hmmmmm
I may well have lost twenty five bucks on this one.

Mis-diagnose. :( Sorry.

All five. That is odd. ( pun unintentional )

410Fortune.. I bought remotes for both our explorer and trailblazer from this guy. Nice guy to do business with. Older, like your '96 looks like $35. Newer are $25.

Aldive.. I had your symptoms with my 2000 explorer xlt, but a new fob from the above web site cured my problem. By the way, I tried a new battery in the old fob and it did not improve its function.

For what it's worth.

okay so now the drivers side function all of a sudden worked for me...and if I pressed again the remiaing 4 unlock.
I am guessing it is an internal issue with the FOB as suggested, time to clean!
Too bad they didn't put a little light on this sucker one could see when the signal was being sent like aftermarket alarm remotes....

Problem is getting worse; I actually had to use the key to get in the truck.

The lock function works fine and from a good distance; the panic button also works well.

This is driving me nuts.

I wonder if its the module in the truck?????

Thanks for any help ....
