Driving around today I notice thump noise, like someone is under the front end, occassionally tapping it with a rubber mallet. It definately happens when I go over a dip that is big enough to cause the truck to sag down. Normal bumps don't seem to bring it on.

After an hour searching here, no luck.

Ideas?

I had the same thing. I swore it was in the front too. It turned out to be the rear parking brake pad had fallen apart from a lack of use and was rattling around during bumps, take offs and stops.

Now that's an interesting idea.
Too bad it's snowing like crazy and I'm wearing a suit today.

Well, it was the left end link. I had guessed it but with that sound it could have been anything from a dead squirrel rattling around to a ...?

As noted here I couldn't get the left one off last fall when I changed the right one.

All is now well, I think.
