Snow Plow?

A dedicated yard truck is nice if you have the place to keep it, and can find one that is mechanically in good shape. If I had a nice tractor with hydraulics I'd use that.

5 minutes south of me is a Gen 1 Explorer with a plow. I wonder if he'd sell it?

Honestly, Explorers can barely get out of their own way, let alone plow. I suggest not my friend.

Years ago my old mechanic had a plow on his S10 blazer. He used it to plow his shop lot and residential driveways as a side job. The tranny only lasted the snow season. It was a year old.

Explorers plow very well. At least my Mounty does. With a large trans cooler, plowing should hurt a healthy transmission any more than towing, or big tires, and wheeling.

i had a 84 f350 (built 460 411 gears etc etc) 8ft fisher that i bought off my dad had to sell it last winter, i was thinkin of puttin a light duty plow on my ex also.. got any side pictures? hows the truck hold the wieght of the plow? etc etc thanks mikey

I don't think I have any other pictures of the plow, and it hasn't been snowing much so it is just sitting in the garage. The truck handles the plow just fine, it's only about 250 pounds. I am going out to work in the garage later, maybe I'll slap it on and take some pics.
