A really happy but mocked idiot when your rolling around and have it cranked?

I mean I love to listen to my music at rediculous levels but god I feel like such an @$$ sometimes for it :D. So much I have even considered selling my subs!

I've said it before but I think I might actually let my subs/amp/enclosure go this time for around $500 :(

What do you guys think?

I think its a nice setup, but $500 may be a bit high for an asking price... not to be mean or anything just giving some advice....

local to a freind who shops at circuit city (would have cost me over 800 for it) but I will keep it until atleast after winter. It definetly helps keep my ass planted in the snow.

well i have only been running 1 15 up till now and never once felt like an ass =)..but i am a dick lol

now i have 2 15s that i have yet to run..im sure ill be just as happy

but i do think that it isnt as cool as some people think to have a loud stereo lol most of the time when friends and i are crusing we turn it down to pick up the wemon =) lol

I had mine loud almost all of the time, mainly when in town... Would turn it down in residental area's and turn it way down when getting two blocks from my house... :D 4 15's will get alot of good and bad looks....

Well I posted a thread about " Loud music etiquite "
and got flamed.

I posted a thread about the risks of hearing loss in association with loud music.
and I got flamed.

So I'll just say good luck in what ever you decide.

Gotta be like that guy in the italian job and blow the womenz clothes off with the stereo powar!

I think its ok if you do it responsibly.....and by responsibly I mean you match stereos with the badass in the civic next to you right before you blow him off the line at green.

i think that reason u got flammed is because people that like loud stereos hear that alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the time..everyone that doesnt have a loud stereo says ur going to have hearing losse...at some point in the convo..and the first thing they say when u say u have a big stereo is "i hate it when people come up booming"

so we hear it allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the time and it just gets kind of old 95% of us know we can damage our hearing but ears are alot more resiliant then people give them credit for..u losse hearing when u have there stere on full volume everyday to and from work or when if u are listining to LOUD music for hours on end

loud music hurts ur ears period..if u have a sub or not but what people also fail to see is that most of the time the ear losses its ability to hear certain tones my GG was totaly deff to low tones she could hardly hear me..but high tones she could hear just fine

moral there 6x9s are just as bad if not worse since u use those freq more offten the freq subs are hitting at

also..clean the ear wax outa ur ears =) ull be amazed how much builds up when loud anything is involved

i just realized i cant spell for s$$t =) sry that came out like crap :( i knew what i wanted to say lol

SQL guys like me never get flamed, it's you SPL punks that ruin it for the rest of us!

:D

No, I don't say you are gonna get hearing loss because I don't have a loud system.
I say that because I have studied audiology, and I work in the live audio industry ( concert sound )
FWIW I have about 17,000 watts in my concert system.
easily capible of 120+ dB.

yes I wear hearing protection.
I say be careful because of the field I am in and because of what I have learned.
I care about people. If people love music enough to play it loud, I would think they would want to listen to it for ever.

Bottom line is MODERATION !!!

Yea, i have a loud system. All you are talking about 2-15"s and such.. i donno. I have 2 12" JL's (V2's) and i cant remember the last time i listened to them full blast. When i first got into systems i always had it turned up.. but now i barely even use my subs.

I considered selling them but nothings better than when you're in a good mood and crankin up some good music with "nice sounding bass". I do hate those people that go to K-mart for cheap subs just to hear THUMP THUMP THUMP.... get some rythm in there for chri$ts sake! know what i mean?

- I never play it loud in residential neighborhoods
- always turn it down (not all the way, but down none the less) at red- lights. You just never know who's gonna be in the car next to you or behind you- its common curtosy people.
- and i ALWAYS put the windows down and crank it FULL if anyone (import or domestic) pulls up next to me with some cheap crap and a rice maker

oh, and one thing i HATE is when people pull up near me at a light and see my JL on the back window so they decide they need to turn up their system to "prove" something... thats just gay - if you wanna "prove" something meet me at the next SQL/SPL competition at our local Tweeter so everyone can laugh at you

Okay I understand your POV now it's cool.

No, not a house system. Bands come to town or what have you, we bring in the mixing consoles, microphones, staging, light systems, bla, bla.

I mentioned that because I did not want to seem like an anti-loud prude. I am looking down at no one.

I have always loved music and in my youger days I would blast my car stereo or my home stereo to the point of my ears ringing.
I wish to high heaven some one would have informed me THEN of what I was doing to my hearing.
I want to be able to enjoy music in it's full spectrum till my twilight years.

I like to listen to my music loud, but not to an extreme. I don't have a system either though. One of my friends has a 2 12's I believe, and will blast them so loud that I can't even think and gives me a headache. It may sound cool to you inside but just when you hear people's car rattling as they're cruising down the road isn't cool in my opinion. I'll turn my head for a nice sounding exhaust but never for a sub bump and rattle.
