I put an updated 4405 in my 97 explorer.It is out of a 98 mounty.So anyway it has no provision for the speedo gear.Vatozone said it should have a provision on the trans like the mounty.It dont.It is a 5R55e.Same part number
from Vatozone for the trans kit.Would it be the same trans?

Anyway

this is correct. theres a write-up here on how to solve that, but hopefully some one more knowledgeable than myself will chime in. definetly search for it though, you should come across it.

can anybody send me in the right direction for that thread.I CANT FIND IT.

:confused::confused::roll:

:confused::confused::confused:What I want to know is about useing the speed sensor anyware else.the person replied to my other thread said there was a thread some where on this.I just spent 700+ dollars on the case and I dont want to take it apart.
I want to know if I can remedy this or do i need to get a different case?
will it hurt not having a speedo.the trans has speed senors in it for shifting,
and the abs has its own sensors.so will it hurt anything?

Amigo mio, those who know will respond shortly... hold on a bit, and they'll be here. Suerte!

You've discovered one of the critical differences between the 97 and the 98 case. They dropped the sensor out of the t-case in favor of using the sensor on the rear diff to monitor the rear axle speed.

Unfortunately that means there is no easy solution. You could *possibly* reuse the rear case section from the old one, but there could be other internal differences that make it impossible. (My exploded diagrams are at work at the moment...)

In general, if you need a case to replace the one in a 97, you need one FROM a 97 as well. Anything else will be a pain in the butt.
