I have 207000kms now...on my 98. it's going in tomorrow to have the rear brakes/pads, rotors and both ebrake cables done..but the real kick in the teeth $ wise is the front upper and lower ball joints and control arms. Ouch. My mechanic (good guy, perfectionist and hard to work for because of it..which works for me) was very surprised at the cost of the parts. Anyway, not to get into specifics it is a big $$$$ hit and a full day in the shop...which leads to my question...

what's next?
I have done brakes (fronts and rears now), a front wheel bearing, fuel pump, shocks, cv boots a couple times, stabilizer bar ends, plugs/wires, aal, religious oil, and tranny fluid changes,

Basically we have made the decision to hold onto the vehicle as in our minds it has been a good one for us, but if we are looking at big repair bills every few months, we may as well be making a payment on something with a warranty.

so, what do you think?

First off parts in Canada are quite a bit more expensive then in the states. I had to change out a starter when I was in Nova Scotia and paid $60 - $70 more then I would have here.

Differential fluids should probably be changed, you did 1 wheel bearing? I think it's general practice to do them both at the same time. By tranny fluid change is that changing the filter and refilling 4 - 5 quarts or flushing the trans and putting 10 - 11 new quarts in? Power Steering fluid, flush the brake fluid, air filter, antifreeze. That stuff should all be flushed/changed perodically though I can't remember specific intervals, I usually just do it when nothing else has broken for a month or 2 I'll tackle one of them.

Or buy a Honda........
