PTU Temp sensor part numbers

I need to pull the temp sensor from my PTU. I took the rear cat off and got the heat shield out of the way but can't get anything around it to loosen. Is there anyone familiar with the size socket needed? I'm planning on cutting one of my cheap ones up in order to fit around the wiring.

...and I'm wanting to do this to refill the PTU. I drained the oil, extended the vent hose and attempted twice now to fill it from the vent tube. Both times it ends in a huge mess on the driveway as the oil appears to come out around the connector on the PTU the new hose is attached to. Without having anywhere for the air to go I was thinking this was a possibility, but so many people seem to have success.

after way too long searching I found the answer, a 15mm Crowfoot.

did you extend the vent hose, replace with a longer one? I just extended mine, did not remove the hose from the PTU. I have refilled my PTU four time this way, never an issue. Takes some time for the Oil to drain into the PTU. BUT it is MUCH better just waiting when removing the CAT, Heat shied and Temp sensor, then replacing all that stuff.

Thanks for the reply. I drained the oil, extended the vent hose and attempted twice now to fill it from the vent tube. Both times it ends in a huge mess on the driveway as the oil appears to come out around the connector on the PTU the new hose is attached to.

I was able to remove temp sensor and fill, but when performing finger and wrench contortions to get the temp sensor back in I broke the sensor in the PTU case. 8 ft-lbs is torque spec and I guess my index finger doesn't know it's own strength! Easy enough to get out as the piece left in is hollow.

Now I'm trying to find the resistance spec for a new sensor.
