SOHC muffler - good replacement?

I checked out in Flowmaster's website about the 50 Series SUV muffler. It lists the years as being 1997-2000 (sohc dual inlet). Would this also fit a 1996? or not? They have nothing here for a 96 sohc.

There was no SOHC engine for Explorers in '96. It got introduced in '97. You've got an OHV if you have a '96. That's a single in/single out if I'm not mistaken. There are tons of mufflers for that application out there even if they don't specifically list it on a website.

okay I know he asked about quiet mufflers has anybody put glaspackes on there X I've heard a few 2.9 true duals ranger that didn't sound bad...

well on my x it said it would fit, 99 sohc. the outlet with an inch off. flowmaster was wrong about the fit. i think the muffler is too high pitched.
