Sold the EX! Bought myself a Ranger!!!

Hey boys n girls.. :

Well. I sold the Ex.. And i bought myself a 05 Ranger.. The EURO model actually. As im in europe, the US ranger is not possible to find..

2,5 turbodiesel, crew cab, manual Black, leather seats n all.. approx. 60.600 miles (100.000 km) ..
As most of you guys know.. Its actually a freakin´ mazda with a ford logo on it.. : / But SHHH.. Dont tell anyone.. Its a FORD.

Anyways.. I´ll post some pics soon. Right now i have some trouble with the inspection. It has lateral protection bars.. From factory. But the inspection guy didnt like it even though the trucks papers states that this model has them from factory.. So i got dumpet (even though the tech papers of the truck states they are there). Mostly because i got pissed off and called him an idiot when he was complaining about them .. But also because of the fact that i didnt want to pay him for letting it pass.. They´re pricks.. totally..
Anyways. I got off with a warning.. I got incredibly angry and apparantly they felt threatened, so they said if i act like that when i come back they´ll call the police.. ?? Hmm.. I guess i lost it a bit..
Anyways. The Mrs will go one of these days. Im figuring its best i stay away. And i guess her female charme can get it to pass..

Anyways. The whole inspection story is getting more and more screwed up as the day goes by.. Listen here:

I called my local Ford dealer and asked what is with this s**t. He got upset and said that this is total crap and this truck is as legal as any other vehicle on the road. And those inspection guys are morons..
So.. I called the inspection up and explained that this is perfectly legal and they cant put a finger on anything.. they could not care less... : /
So.. I called my local dealer up .. again.. He got so furious, that he was almost screaming at me saying "i will take care of this"... : ) Good..
So.. 30 mins. ago i get a call from FORD SPAIN asking me what i did to those guys since i have this problem.. (i kinda know.. I wasnt very diplomatic when things started turning to the bad when i was there) Anyways i said i had no idea.. But. FORD SPAIN said to me not to worry. They will take care of this and contact me later today..

Now.. Thats service! : )

I will put some pics as soon as i have time. But right now i think i will be busy after work going to the inspection picking a fight.. .. AND get my papers ; )

I, too, am curious about the European Rangers - which I assume will become the "World Ranger" when Ford stops building the current US Ranger.

Well, here we are not short on morons either.. That makes me think politics.. But nevermind that.. :

This whole thing is getting bigger & bigger..

Yesterday it all ended up with a agreement with Ford spain. This morning i dropped the truck off at my local dealership. Now, they´re checking all reference numbers, papers - u name it.

Ford spain is really helpful. I guess they take it kind of personal, since they want to get involved. As said. Its at the local dealership. Ford spain has "ordered" them to take it in and check it out - and without any cost for me whatsoever. So thats kind of cool..

But, on the other hand.. i just want to get those papers done. I want to take it out in the mountains in the easter holidays.. : But before i get it all cleared up with the inspection, my truck can´t drive on the streets.. So in that way it really sucks.. But maybe im just going anyways.. The truck is fine. Its just some bureaucracy-paperwork crap i need. But again. If something happens, im in for a ****load of trouble.. So.. this sucks..

Anyways i took some pics last night in out garage.. But they sucked so much i didnt want to show u guys..: I want some nice pics to show you..

So be patient.

By the way. They´re gonna stop producing the Ranger in US? Why? I thought it was the "all time most popular" light truck on the market? On top of that, its a damn shame. If i had enough money for keeping an older US ranger on the road here, i would definately do it. I like them a lot more than the euro Ranger.. But US cars here in spain a very few. And parts cost a billion plus mechanics cant read errorcodes out or nothing (the plug doesnt even fit because its for euro-fords) .. So my choice was out of practicality / economy. But im happy with it. Its a ford (kind of.. ) And its a pickup.:rangerred:

Dang man sorry to hear about your inspection troubles, im so glad we dont have any kind of inspection in Michigan

Damn youre lucky. But here you go to the inspection first time after 4 years from new. Then again 2 years after, and after until the car reaches 10 years in age. Then you have to go every year. It can be a real hassle if you have modified anything on your vehicle. Rules are strict. And on top of that, it all depends on the mechanic that inpects your vehicle. If he thinks youre an #######. He WILL find a way to not let you pass.. Some of these guy are real sadistic pricks.. It sux when you get one of these..

And yeah.. i dont like the front on the 2 models after the one i bought. That why i went with a 05. Cause i just dont like the new front. Theyre ugly.

I hate looking at these pics because I sold it to get a first gen S10 Blazer. My Explorer is awesome though. Love it!

My understanding is the US built truck will be discontinued to be replaced with the world Ranger. The thinking is one platform is less costly than multiple ones.

I kind of like the blue one - not in a replace-my-FX4 LII way, but in a if-I-had-buy-one-I-wouldn't-be-totally-disgusted way...

Well. YES.. I COULD just take off the bras & put them again.. But i don´t want to do that, cause this SHOULD not have any problems passing.. And to take them off, pisses me off because of that.It makes me feel like im doing something wrong/illegal - which i - for once - am not.. My bug shield & bull bar on the Ex was totally illegal. And had to come off before inspection. BUt if its off during inspection. The new papers does NOT state that im allowed to have these. So if i go without.. They suddenly WOULD become kind of illegal.. And if i have an accident.. You know whats goona happen.. So.. This has to be last resort only..
Anyways, FORD SPAIN did´nt make it in time, so i havent been to the inspection yet. Goddamn easter holidays.. Of course jesus had to die these day so i can´t use my new toy.. Thank you judas or whatever.. Im not big on the bible. Where im from easter is about eating sof boiled eggs?? :.

Yes it is totally this one. Exactly like it.. : Im very pleased with it.. The suspension is in a way softer but again more firm than on the EX. Maybe due to worn out shocks (probably) ..

Plans for this new toy:
Fix al the dents (im almost done) It was all screwed up. Previous owner could´nt drive for *****.. So i got all the dent for free with the truck :

Tint the hell out of the windows.

Get some off road rims. Black - Steel - 40mm negative offset and some 50/50 road/off road tyres. Tweak the Tbars so its level with the back..
And.. Paint all the bottom black. I really do hate the 2 tone color.

Thats about it.. And when all thats done - at least the susp. & tyres me, the truck & my Mrs are driving all the way to the southermost tip of spain.. And take the ferry to Tangier (marocco) .. And then drive through the desert to Marrakesh.. Is that an awesome plan or what? Drivin in freakin´ africa?

I like the way you put it.. You´re right. But. THese is just something about that front.. Me no likey : In my opinion (of course we all can disagree on that one) my old 2005 looks more like a truck..And better too..
I just hope the next few years will bring back the more beefy / flat/square front.. Cause this streamlined crap design.. Is just wrong for a truck IMO...

And anyways. When i get my papers ready efter easter i have arranged that my Mrs and one of her girlfriends takes it to the inspection.. No reason to go there and get all wound up and get failed.. And go do some time over boken teeth or some ****.. Its not worth it..

Just passed the the inspection yesterday!

Thats friggin awesome! I did´nt take of the bars to do it..

Yesterday i finally got that letter from ford spain i could give to the inspection guys.
So i went.. he saw why i failed last time and i gave him this letter that in short just said that this vehicle is built and inspected with the bars and they are completely legal. So they cannot fail me because of this..

But luckily it was another guy.. He was cool.. He just said alright.. Put it in the papers of the car that these bars are legal for future reference.. and that was it..

So that was cool finally getting this **** sorted out..

Now.. Im off to make it illegal again putting some bigger wheels, hehe
I have ordered some balck RIMS. I tried putting 31´s on in a 4x4 shop last week, but that **** is too big when its stock and no TT - just a little bit : ( So i have consulted with them after we tested and agreed to go 16 inch in rim and 165/70 in tire. Thats about 30,5 inches in total. Were hoping (im sure) that with the TT and the half inch less,. it will be fine. And if not. I just need some trimming in the inside. Only plastic.
So thats cool..

Anyways.. ill take some photos tonight.. So u can see my nerw toy.. Its full of stickers in the back & ****.. but ill have that sorted out before too long.. Its really "surfer dude" looking with all that **** on it.. BTW.. WTF is SEX WAX? haha.. i have a big sticker saying that on the back of my truck.. :
