Hello! I am so new to this and I hope I am in the right place here. I recently just bought a 94 explorer and it is making this bump like sound up the front end driver side tire when I go over a bump and apply my brake or when I am coming to a stop. It almost feels like something is going to break kind of..I am planning on taking it to a garage to be looked at after X-mas, cause I cant afford it right now so I thought maybe someone here might know what it might be and I just want to know if it is safe to drive cause it is my only vehichle at this time.If any one has any ideas give me a shout Pleassssse!! Thanx so much Moe

Can't really know without a little more detail but my guess is a radius arm bushing. Mine went out on my 92 and clunked everytime I went over a bump. It was cheap to fix (did my own work) and not hard if you know anything about cars. I have no Idea your skills so please don't be offended but look under your vehicle and grab the radius arm and try to move it. It shouldn't move if it does there is your problem. The radius arm goes from the front axle to a mounting point on the frame. The mounting point is where the bushing is that goes bad.

if that is the case with the bushing... a quick temporary fix that could quite things down would be to just throw some grease in the fitting... that should be done periodically as it is

welcome
