Try disconnecting the wiring connector from the crankshaft position sensor a few times. Its next to the front lower pulley. It gets corroded from road dirt.
Mine did this after i had put my rebuilt engine in and had me very worried for about 10 mins until i remembered reading about the cps connector. That reminds me i need to buy some di-electric grease.
