Im looking for a way to quiet the cabin in my explorer I called my local Radio shack and he said a box would cost me $250-no way. I would like to find a dirt cheap alternative any suggestions?

I thought of using floating floor backar $25 for 100sqft with upolstry cement?

by all means, any soundproofying is gonna be expensive. Even the cheap stuff


Sherwin Wiliams sells their brand in their stores where you can get a box thats like... 36 square feet for 100 bucks i think.
 






Go to home depot... they've got roofing ice barrier. It's about 3-4ft wide roll, it's a big heavy roll. It's a very generic dynomat. Works very well for what you pay. If you want to do vertical layers, or on ceilings, get roofing cement to hold it together.
 






he is talking about roofing stuff called peel-n-stick ... i have never used it, but tons of people have and say that its good...

well i have used it, but not in a car, i am a roofer...

Are you talking about felpt? the guy at lowes said that it was probaby less than a 16th of an inch

my local lowes have never heard of it(this is the third call they might be getting anoyed-lol) is it for roofing?
 






Yea, its called ice barrier. Mine is made by Owens Corning I believe.
 






is that the stuff you used on your old Ex Todd ?
