If I replace the stock speaker wires, will I notice an increase in sound quality, I plan on running 75rms to front and rear components.

75 watts total or per channel?
the stock wires are adequate for regular playing through standard sized speakers, however, if you are going all out with major speakers and major equipment, than upgrading them is a good idea too, as you wouldnt want the wires being the weak system link

While it makes sense that larger gauge wires should be better I have the exact setup you speak of with stock wires and good speakers and I can't link any problems to the wires. Maybe my ears are bad but you should be fine. But I would think it would not be too hard to hook up using stock and before you close up the door panels run a temp set of 16 or 12 ga.

Also don't run extra length you don't need. That helps too.

If you're only running 75 Watts, you probably won't be able to tell the difference. I have 100 Watts running through my stock wiring to some Pioneer components and I haven't heard any difference.

It's 75 watts per channel, 4 channel amp to two sets of kicker componets. I bought all this stuff from scramblin, As far as I know he used stock speaker wire, but as long as everything is gonna be taken apart anyway, and If you guys think it's worth it to run better speaker wire then I'll do it.

It's worth it only if you are willing to spend the time to do it. I know better speaker wire is always a good thing, but I had already spent 9 hours with my truck in pieces to put my stereo in, and it wasn't worth it to me to upgrade my stock wiring.

...

Hey b_alcorn,

I got your amp shipped out this morning so, it should be at your house tue/wed.
When I had the spekaers and amp in my car I ran all 12 ga. wire from the amp to each speaker.
It took me a full day to run all of the wiring but, in my opinion, I think it was worth it. I never tried using the factory wiring though. The hardest part was getting the wire through the drivers side door!

I recently had to have my stock wiring replaced (i'm not as good at installing as most of you guys, i have very little experience with it) and it cost A LOT OF MONEY. I know it took those guys a long time, even with all the right tools.

The reason I did it was simply because I had 2 annoying shorts and it caused a speaker to blow...

...but honestly, I replaced it with some of the best wires they had...and other than the lack of shorts I noticed no difference whatsoever in SQ.

(I'm pushing about 60 RMS to each speaker)

Stock Speaker Wire

So which wire is the "postive lead", blue/white or orange/green?

Thanks in advance.
