Morning chaps, has anyone retrofitted a towbar to their Explorer?

Mine hasn't got one i want one so i can pull a trailer (with a car so > a tonne). I have looked at TowEquipe and they look OK with kits at around £180 which you fit yourself.
Any other suggestions? Has anyone got one from Ford for example?

Ah that's handy - Aylesbury is just up the road from me and they have stock! - thanks Howard!
Did you go for the electrics kit and was it hard to fit? Doesn't look too challenging....

I just put electrics for a trailer so it was easy. DIY rules. All the conections were made behind one rear light lens.

If Aylesbury is just up the road Buckingham is only 13 miles further so we could meet up. :D

It would be great to meet up - Explorers are as rare as hens teeth round here, you can go weeks without seeing any, then the miserable sods driving them don't even acknowledge you :(

Got any good places we can go driving? :D

How true :D

I don't know of any good places around here last time we went off roading we had to go to Newmarket. But we could still meet up and chew the cud. Any good pubs your way?

I like the english accents in this thread :D

Errr sorry its taken me 2 weeks to reply to this thread :D

Finally got myself a towbar, a Witter one from www.towbarwarehouse.co.uk free delivery and electrics kit so i was happy  Now just got to get round to fitting it...

Yes there are some decent pubs round here Howard - we'll have to get some meets going - there doesn't seem to be all that much going on in the UK forum
