I have a 2003 explorer and I called the dealer to to cross reference the orginal spark plugs because the original factory plug was obselete. The dealer recommend sp-500 (AGSF22FM) and I bought them online. Ford's part websiite recommends to set the gap at .028 and others had posted to set them between .052-.056. Can someone tell me what the gap setting would be? The motor is a 4.0 sohc flex fuel.

Thanks,
Bizzs

The Motorcraft SP-500 is the correct replacement plug, and supersedes the AGSF22FM.
Be careful gapping the delicate Finewire tip. Gap is .054, confirm with your hood decal.
Use a very thin coat of anti seize on the threads, and dielectric grease inside the boots.

thanks for the info
