I just need to ask about the spare tire mounted below, It just dawned on me! (Little sleep and alot of Gray Goose) ......Is there supposed to be ANY movement i.e swaying? I noticed this while it was up on the lift getting a much needed chassis bath. Something you dont really notice when lifted otherwise but of course when the powerwasher hit it the swaying was noticeable. I'm starting to believe when I had my shockes replaced the mechanic half-azzed cranked the spare back up and its been wobbling around contributing to my "handling issues" I mean a tire is a heavy thing to have basically swinging around like a pendulum. Would it contribute to unstability on corners and bumpy turns?

make sure that it is all the way up. If not it will wobbel around a bit.

Thats the plan...but I just wanted to know how much if any, movement was acceptable?

it should not move at all. It could affect you handeling since one of the main things that effects, would it be effects or affects i never know, handeling is where there is weight in your car, and if weight is moving around then the handeling can be adversely effected. But i dont know how much this would effect it

I agree. I just never noticed it as many time she's been lifted. Yesterday I splurged on an engine cleaning/shine and undercarriage wash. It was then I noticed it "dangling" when the guy ran the power washer around the rear.....It didnt click right away and even when I was bouncing all over the road. It makes sense if its basically dangling and shifting as the vehicle does, it can contribute to poor handling.

if you cannot raise it up all the way take the tire off of the carrier and make a bumper mount for it fix the stock one or stow the spare. Also with it dangiling the tire is subjiect to fall off.

i know a guy that has an f-150 and his spare tire mount broke and he lost the tire, luckly he was turning into his drive way at the time.
