I have a 96 ford ranger 3.0L 4x4 i use 2wd all the time will like to try get i little mpg the spark plug gap on the ranger to .044" will making the gap smaller are bigger gave better mpg?

If that is all you do, no, it will not help with the MPG.

However, many have seen better MPG by using a Screamin' Deamon coil and opening the gap to 0.065'.
