Spark plug indexing

This was discussed about 4 years ago, http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50588&highlight=spark+plug+indexing, but in a closed forum.

With the price of fuel what it is today, indexing my prove to be a valad exercise.

Has anyone indexed their plugs? Opinions sought.

Side gapping is sometimes used instead of indexing in the olden days. Think I read that on here some years ago....... Cut it from this L to l and bend it over to the correct gap. Plugs don't last as long.
