if the plug spins the threads are gone on the head or the plug (most likely the head). if you manage to get the plug out, you can buy a heli-coil spark plug re-threading kit for around $35.00. they work pretty good as long as you can get at the hole well enough. otherwise you'll need to pull the head off to replace it or have it repaired.

+1 on the Helicoil. They work great, just read the directions, and go slow. Also, with all the other spark plugs put Anti seize on the threads, and boot grease on the portion where the boot touched the plug. This will prevent anything from fusing together, and you will never have this problem again.

Spinning spark plug

Is there any other way to get a spinning spark plug out with out removing the head::mad:

unless there's a way to pull on the plug while trying to unscrew it i don't have any good suggestions for you. how easily does it spin? i'd try a small vice grip on the tip of the plug and pull on it while turning the plug with a wrench rather than a socket. if you get it to back out a little it may unscrew. also, if you get it to back out a little you might be able to get a screw driver between it and the head to keep the tension on it while you continue unscrewing. i'd get real creative before i pulled the head off.

Are you sure the plug is loose? I had problems in the past with the heat shields around the plugs. It may feel like the socket is on the plug bit it is not and the socket is just turning inside the heat shield.

I ended up removing all the heat shields for the plugs because they were such a pain in the ass.

If you are not already doing it going through the fender wells will give you more room to work.
