Hello to all

Is there a factory specification of what is the range of the resistance value (ohms) of each spark plug wire?

are you trying to test your wires or just asking if there is a spec.. resistance of a wire is measured by foot and since all 6-8 wires might very in size there would not be a spec for this... the basic is 5000 to 8000 ohms per foot

I measured the ohms on a new set I got and they measure a lot more than the old ones. There are new cables with more than double the resistance than the old equivalent. They all measure in K ohms.
I get better performance and fuel economy form the old ones but better idle and smother engine from the new ones, go figure

the rough idle may be an indication that there was breaks in the cable causing a missing issue... if you get up around 18,000 ohms / foot then the wires are toast.... if you can find a drop out on the DMM while bending the wire replace it... any differences in the wires from say 5000-8000 might just be the way they made the wires for radio noise suppression as wire tech got newer the resistance has risen .... example race wires with solid cores had very low resistance 1000-3000 ohm / foot but they had a trade off from daily driver wire sets because of interference and when you figure in the current these wires carry a couple thousand ohm's is not going to hinder performance with an 18" wire... if you liked the old ones put them back on if you find no breaks.... did you replace the plugs at the same time because its more likely the plugs are causing the lower fuel economy

Do you also have the 4.0?
What spark plugs do you use?
