I have a 92 sport with 5x7 infinty speakers all around. the problem im having is that i have them powered by an amp and sinc ethey are pounding pretty hard, the rear speaker covers keep rattling and i cant think of anything to stop them from doing so. i was just wandering if anyone modified them or whatever to stop the rattling??
i dont think the same rear covers are used in the gen1 4 doors explorers but im prettyy sure all 91-94 sports have the same type.
thanks

First make sure your not missing any screws and that they are all secure. If it still shakes get some Dynamat. This will absorb the sound and actually keep it inside your truck and it will sound better.

id say dinomat or equivalent... i had this promlem too..... the ghetto way that worked for me was a folded shop rag and a strip of duct tape......

thanks guys, but the speaker cover in the back of the sports dont have any screws(im not sure about the 4drs..i dont think they are the same), all they have are two tabs(one coming from the top and one on the bottom that just pop and slide in, which is why the suck so much and rattle cause the are tight or flush. and im having trouble thinking of ways to get them flush without makig them look ugly or anything.

Tell me if i'm off here. Maybe some sealant or rubber surrounding the brackets? I know the ones in my door (the metal triangle lookin ones) stopped when i just put some ductape along the seams.

You may want to try something like 3M Tape on the grilles to stop the rattles.

i was thinking of taking mine off but i just dont like the look of being able to see the speaker, plus i want it to be protected by soemthing in case soemone would bump into it or something like that.

3m tape would probabaly do the trick, except it would be a pain trying to take it off if i needed too. i was trying to thing of somehting to install on the sides to stop it from moving that you wouldnt see.

sorry, its hard to really explain what they are like unless you have the exact covers im talking about and even then it is hard to think of something, if i get mad and give up ill probbaly just put some 3m tape around it.
