Yeah, I was gonna say, if that is not a theft target I don't know what is. Best of luck with that, even I worry about that stuff and I have no where near the setup you do.

Trust me, I recognize it to be a big theft target, especially when you post and share the pictures of it on line as I have done. I would say there is already a dozen or so thiefs already plotting on how to steal it with my license plates showing and stuff, so they know where I live. When doing a big audio system and installing an extra battery or 2 or 3 or more, LOL, there are many more options available to you than the standard alarm install package with a kill switch. Since you do have other power supplies, some in plain site and others hidden, you can do alternatives. But if a thief wants that stereo, not much you can do to stop it except make them play on your turf. My stereo nor my truck will be stolen at home, I can promise you that. But I can't stop a thief who wants it so bad that they would follow me around till I park it in a parking lot to do some shopping and then they could simply jack the vehicle with a wrecker and make way with it. I don't know if a cop would even notice that it is being towed with the alarms sounding. I need to check into that with HPD on what there procedure is. Then a thief would take it to an undisclosed location and start cutting wires until all of the alarms stop and then strip it down to bare metal. But that is about there only option on my vehicle. Nowadays, with so many alarms on the market and everyone having one, the sound of it makes your first instinct say, adjust the motion sensers on it. Come on buddy, get with the program, LOL. I hear alarms all the time and pay them no mind. But they won't drive away in my vehicle. Nor will they spend much time in it at my house without arising me, my family, my neighbors, or the dogs. Someone will notice it here, but not at a mall or something and then only time will be an issue. You can't simply crawl under my truck, cut some wires, and then off to the farmer's market you go, LOL. Years of experience have taught me better. Only a handful of people know everything about my truck. Me and the insurance company know everything, and then serveral different installers know a little each, and only 1 installer, the current one, knows it all. He has to, cause all of the wires are there and of course he asked about why this battery is here and why this one is there and so on and on. LOL, not to say too much, but it was mostly done "before" the major install ever begin and then some more added after the batteries were installed and the ground work began. I don't mind spending a few thousand to try and protect a few more thousand, but it has to be done. Al, if you would like to know more privately, let me know. I can help you.

Come on Ronnie.... fess up, tell em about the Pit Bull with AIDS that lives in the back seat.

Wow BBQ it''s looking PHENOMENAL! Hey, you mentioned you kept the stock volume controls on your deck with that thing. Is it just an Alpine feature or do most decks have options like that? I'd LOVE to be able to do that with my Pioneer 7500DVD.

I know it's taken a while, but man is it coming along nicely now.
AWESOME man, just awesome.. :)

They will all do that. Let me try and remember where I got the optional piece at that connects to it.

Here ya go, this is where I went and ordered the control piece that connects to my factory steering wheel controls and now controls the aftermarket head unit. In my opinion, ths is well worth the money if you do an upgrade to any head unit and have the radio control buttons on the steering wheel. I certainly did not want to lose them. I wasn't too concerned about the rear controls though, I am never in the rear seat. LOL.

And by the way, it does work.

Here is my pictures from yesterday. Not too much to update. The truck got a small bath for a change so it's not as dirty as she was.

Gave my final approval on the rear door panels and the go ahead to paint the new pieces. The small strips of wood that you see will not be red, they will be painted to match the silver in the crossovers. Just something to bust off the red and make it blend a little better.

Got the new gauges installed. Had to remove the LED bulbs in them. The light just came straight out and didn't spread evenly like the plain 194 bulbs did.

But I definately like the white faced, red needled gauges much better than the black faced, white needled gauges.

I have another set of these for sell if anyone is interested.

The instruments look great.

Have you considered painting the grill, bumper and side trip the red color?

Yea, but it was a short thought. I like the chrome. So she will stay 2 toned with the pin stripes. On the instrument cluster bezel, the little center part that is black will be painted red also. The rest of the bezel will remain tan. That is why it is not back on there and closed up right now.

What you need for the gauges are inverted LEDs. They sell them on eBay. They throw light out to the sides instead of straight ahead, just like a stock bulb.

how does it hit?

It hasn't been fired off yet. A power check was ran to make sure power was getting to the amps. But until the ZR6's get installed, I doubt it will be completely fired up for testing for some time.

Hartman, if you see any of those LED's on E-Bay you are talking about that replace the 194 bulbs. send me a message please. Thanks

How about the 2001 model bumper for a nice updated look?

Another gauge cluster or just the overlays?

The whole gauge cluster from a 01 sport. It's nicer than the one I actually am using in my truck.

how much $$$?

i don't know, but the loss of the vehicle for 5 months would be worth about 10k all by itself in my mind. so you can tack that onto the actual total.

$120 plus actual shipping charges. I bought in case the one I had wasn't any good or something was wrong. But it works fine. Has been tested and all is well so I don't need 2. Once this job is comlete, or I should say the renovation is complete, I will have allot of odds and ends for sell. Some things I will keep, and some will be sold. LOL, and some things will be torn up and used for testing purposes, like a cupholder. Gonna drill holes in it and then patch them testing to see what gives me the best lighting if I decide to try and light up the console. Right now I have an overhead console completely torn apart trying to rig some LED's in it for the best lighting affects. Just waiting on the bulbs and resisitors now.

Expo, it has been a terrible long 5 months and soon to be 6. I can't count the times I would have killed for a ride somewhere. That is why they are going to install the EE lowering kit for me for free while they are waiting on the painter to paint the door panels and insert that were made. Plus the EE X-Spec airdam and PIAA Pro90's. I think they are making some good gestures towards satisfying me and actually want to use it for advertisement in the upcoming audio show in July. Hopefully the only thing I will need to do when I get her back is to install the powerslot rotors and new tires and rims and of course paint the calipers. There are some things that I want to do on my own so I can at least say that "I" did work on it. LOL. But all is good. I think it looks very professional right now and that is what I want. LOL, and I am the one that counts the most. ROFL, I would never imagined in my wildest dreams that 5 months later, I would still be waiting.

tell them to install the rotors and paint the calipers. If they are going to use you for advertising you need to get paid. It is always satisfying to do your own work, but you've been inconvienced enough to make them do this without feeling bad about it.

I still can't believe you dont have it back. I thought it was all done except for that one stupid wire?! I'm in Miami Florida right now doing an internship.... If you dont have that car by next weekend I'm going to make a road trip to force them to finish that beast.
