Speaker popping on heavy bass

My Infinity Reference in the right door pops sometimes when the bass is up and the volume up 2 notches past 1/2 way. I still have the stock head unit so I know I am underpowering them, but have I permanently damaged the speaker? I'm pretty sure the connection is excellent.

in my Experience popping generally means the speaker is blown, on its way out or defective especially since your running off your stock head unit, where did u get it from? flea market or dealer? If you got it from a dealer take it back and u can even ask him for another set or another brand. personally im not too crazy about infinity's considering jbl and infinity come from the same factory.... go for a pioneer or if you want to go high end, MB quart is a good speaker. anything with a big magnet is generally a good thing to go by.

big magnets arent neccisarily good for component speakers. they dont need to pound, they need to sound good.
