Specific sct X3 tunes - what have you got?

I think as well as the higher octane premium also cleans. I heard a few years ago that once in a while (every 10 tanks full) fill 3/4 regular and 1/4 premium. I tried it on the vehicle I had at the time but you cant polish a turd. I was thinking about doing this on the ford but theres a warning sticker on my fuel cap that says only use regular (91 oct). That could be so ford gets there $200 for a carbon clean tho'. I might give it ago anyway.
Even tho' on the street tune she sits 200rpm higher 1st to 4th, in overdrive she seems to sit 200rpm lower. I'm going to do the torque tune today and test it out when the shops open in about 2 hrs, bloody xmas shopping!! I'll post when I get home.

ive heard of that to, so i figured why not ? im going to be buying the better grade fuel soon anyway so why not start now...

while im waiting for my tunes, is there any reason i should quit running on 93 octane for my next tank until i get my tunes ?

I dont think so. Alot of other forums have people running premium in cars that were designed for regular, but the damage occurs when you run regular in cars that were designed for premium. There shouldnt be a problem running 93.
The torque tune runs well and I think I'll keep that in the x for around town, smoother idle 800rpm instead of 600rpm, heaps of torque available at 2000rpm and cruising rpm is 200 less than stock- 40mph is 1100rpm and 50mph is 1300. On a shallow note (or should that be deeper note) the cruising rpm keeps the exhaust making that nice burble that I love. Sorry I have no mpg comparisons yet. I was tempted to play with the options today but held myself in check so I could get a true read on the torque tune provided by James, I need something to do this week anyway!!!:D

tuner arrived in the mail today !

hopefully have james all the info he needs by tonight

emailed james the info he needs, and im getting the following tunes...

89 street / 93 street / 93 tq

Wicked, I take it your truck didnt blow up using 93 then?:D

nah hasnt blown up lol...

once you sent james the " read strategy code " what was the email turn around time for your tunes ?

It took awhile because of our different time zones but for each step it was around 24 hrs. Once the platform for the imported truck was sorted It was only 14 hrs I think. I emailed the computer code at 9am alabama time and got my codes at about 8pm alabama. He knows what hes doing thats for sure.

I had mine within a few hours. James is quick.....and good. Love the custom tune.

caldwell would you mine doing a before video doing like 0-60 or something before tune and after. Im in the market for this tune for my v8 and would love to see before and after video/stats. Im more interested in the 89 tune as to i dont want to run super i want to stick to regular gas

i can do a compare video, just gotta find a video camera lol

I'm going to try the 95 torque today, I just had to get my tank down to 1/3 so I can fill it up with 98. I figure 1/3 91 oct + 2/3 98 oct = 95 oct or there abouts. Got a 500 mile run on monday, and I want to see how the higher octane goes for fuel economy on the hwy.

how was the 95 Tune ?

James sent me my tunes today, and i just uploaded them to the tuner :D

ill be starting out with the 89 street tune first...

My usual servo didnt have 98, so I gave it 95 and I'm off this morning to top her up with 98 at a servo in town. 500mile trip tomorrow morning, so that should give me a good economy read!! Congrats on the tunes, have fun:D

I'm hooked on the 95 torque. The exhaust sounds deep, down low and Bloody race car at wot. Crisp shifts that I'd be hard pressed to make with a manual. Bloody bewdaful.

How's it going Danny? Worth the dinero?

At the moment, like you said whats an extra fiver at the pump for those sort of benefits. A small price for alot of enjoyment. Cheers James(somehow I dont think he'll see this but, cheers all the same)

u get the program of the sct website so u can datalog through ur computer? heaps better then just datalogging in the device

Merry Xmas mate and a happy new year, thanks for that. No doubt I'll be looking for something to do after me son goes back to his mum's after the school holidays. I think I did, but I've only just tried the 95. Haven't even played with options yet. It is the perfect xmas prezzie and heaps more fun to be had I reckon'.

I filled my tank again with ( 92 ) on thursday, but programmed my ( 89 street tune ) last night. i havent had a chance to do much driving yet, maybe a max of about 8 miles lol... but from what i have noticed already is that the throttle lag is not as bad :D i really need to quit being so lazy, and just do the TB spacer mod to completely eliminate the lag lol...

i think just for the hell of it I may go take a drive on I-95 and open it up a little bit, when i get done working at the firehouse tonight...
