SPEED BUMPS and SQUEAKS

Has anyone noticed any unusual noise or squeaks that occur after you go over several speed bumps? Just recently started noticing the noise and I am only going around 5 mph. Could it possibly be from the cold temps? Even so, I should not be hearing any noise, only have 9K.

No problems with mine regarding speed bumps. Any rough roads or areas you can take it and drive at the same speed to see if the problem is noticed?

Nope..no squeaks here and I also have about 9k on my Explorer.

Did you forget to feed the chipmunks under the hood? They tend to get a little cranky and noisy when they aren't fed......

If the noise continues, I suggest having it checked by your dealer. Like JDraper said, those chipmunks get really upset when they don’t get food. I still have your VIN from previous messages so drop me a line if you’d like help.

I have a knocking under my vehicle that seems to be isolated to the right tire when going over any uneven roads or bumps at slow speeds! I have had it in and out of the shop and they have replaced struts and mounts and it still does it and is getting worse!!! I am at my wits end and dont have a clue what it could be?? any suggestions??? my service guys seem to be a little stumped also!! 2011 explorer limited!

Me too...it's worse on speed humps than bumps for me. We have three to go over before coming home and leaving. I like these problems to get much worse before I deal with a dealer.

I noticed a rattle like sound going low speed over frost heaves the other day. I removed my hitch and ball..........problem solved.

Mine is about to drive me crazy.... I Love The Car, but this sound is about to kill me. Mine is coming from deep inside the dash or center console. If you sit in the passenger's seat, it sounds like it is coming from the media hub compartment, but when you move to the driver's seat, it sounds like it is coming from the glove compartment.

It sounds like something loose, not something that has broken off or is laying around somewhere. I have taken everything out of the console, and it still happens. It doesn't even happen over every bump, only certain ones..... I can't explain it, but it drives me insane....

I'm still having this issue and planning to take the car to the dealer Tuesday to have it looked at. I'm dreading the scenario of one appointment to tell them, another to remind them, then another to prove it, then another to get the parts installed.

Has anyone had this fixed?

Yup, I have the same issue. Of course the dealer thought there was nothing wrong with it. I also have a weird rattle noise coming from the rear left passenger seat. Sounds like it is on the door.

Yes, especially when you hit a speed bump at really slow speed. I think someone forgot to lube several parts in the suspension system. Sounds like an old rickety boat.

You forgot that between appointment #3 and what was originally planned to be appointment #4- you will have 3-5 additional appointments, where they continuously can't recreate the problem while driving on smooth pavement and telling you that it's either:

1.) In your head.
2.) Normal for the vehicle
3.) Something you're doing wrong
4.) Related to anything else in the atmosphere beyond their control.
