I purchased and installed the factory cruise unit for my 98 Sport. Surprisingly, everything works, except for the speed control light. Does anybody know which wire in particular activates that light? I have a factory service manual on DVD and was still unable to tell from the diagram.

Thanks very much for any help you can provide.

Hey Neighbor:

Can't help you out with the wire but the lights are all lit by bulbs (duh). Not sure what's involved with the factory cruise install as far as the lights are concerned.

Are you talking about the light in the dash gauge cluster or the lights in the cruise control switches?

Figuring that your X did not have cruise control before then it might not have a bulb for it in the gauge cluster. In this case you will need to remove the gauge panel to replace the bulb. There are instructions for doing this on this site if you do a search.

If you are referring to the lights in the cruise control switches then you can pull each switch apart and replace the bulb. There are also instructions for doing this. Try a search for cruise control switches.

I know....not much help...
