Have the PIU also a speed limiter at 110mph?

The PIU models still have speed limits / RPM safeties in place like most all vehicles on the road today. However being a police model they have higher speed limits than the standard models since they are often used to pursue suspects. We do offer custom tuning for the PIU models as well and that is one area that we can raise even higher if needed via our Mycalinrator tuning devices. The last time I checked on a PIU it was up closer to 150 mph range if memory serves. Our tuning can also raise the shift points, shift firmness, RPM / Rev limits, decrease torque management, improved throttle response, increased horsepower and torque, dyno proven air and fuel adjustments, the list goes on. So even though they do have higher speed limits than the usual models there is still plenty of untapped potential just waiting to be unlocked through custom tuning.

$499.99??

$499.99??

For the tune and Mycal device, yes that's the price. I paid $600 for my Fusion's tuner (before the sale) and I had no idea I could return my car back to stock before I sold it, and send the Mycal tuner back to Livernois for a postage fee both ways to get it switched over to my Explorer Sport for free! To me, it's definitely worth it for the power gain and changing the shift points. Also, they will update your tune if you decide to keep throwing parts at your vehicle, which I'm currently doing.

$499.99??

Actually I have just double checked that and the N/A Explorer tuners were actually on sale already for $549 before this $100 off promotion began. So we're actually offering an additional $100 off currently on the naturally aspirated 3.5L - 3.7L Explorer / PIU models which takes them down to $449 which is by far the deepest discount we've ever offered on these models.

Here's a link to the Mycal promotion for the N/A models on our site for $449.99

Thank you very much for your order and for the kind words as well, glad to hear you've been able to enjoy our tuning on both the Fusion and the Explorer all for one price. To my knowledge we are still the only calibrators that offer truly lifetime tuning and support free of charge with all Mycal purchases including the transfer to a replacement vehicle. Also if you've had the tune for your Explorer for more than 11-12 months without any updates, let us know your serial and we can check to make sure you have the latest tunes. There was a newer version 6 tune update for premium fuels back in August of 2019 if you haven't already been updated to that version. You can send an update inquiry over to us at tuning@livernoismotorsports.com or even feel free to PM us your info on here if you prefer. Thanks again for your continued support!

I actually just got the tune around the 8th of July and I sent in a new request for a 170 tstat and catless downpipes tune.

Quick question, would using an aftermarket intake like aFe require an adjust on the tune? I know my Mustang needed one but it’s a 5.0 so it has a MAF vs using a MAP.

Thanks for sending over your request!

The colder thermostats and downpipes are two items that would benefit from updated tunes to take those mods into account. These vehicles are speed density based and do not have a traditional MAF sensor like a 5.0L would to require any adjustments for a cold air intake however. So that intake could be used with your existing or updated tunes , even the stock tune, and no adjustments needed since it will adapt on the fly as it sees fit.

Awesome, thanks for that! One more question, would you guys be able to adjust the tune for a 70mm BBK throttlebody? It's from the 4.0L S197 Mustangs. I've seen how some SHO owners run it and was wondering if that needed retuned as well.

You are very welcome, happy to help out and my apologies for the delayed response. I was just speaking with the calibrators a bit further on this and they have confirmed that is something we could support for remote tuning. However we've found it's best to stick with the stock throttlebody on these 3.5L engines for the best all around performance and drivability. Spoken to quite a few SHO / Explorer guys that ended up going back to their stock t.body and were much happier in the long run. Aftermarket t.bodies are usually for builds where you've maxed out the stock one with built engines, turbo upgrades, meth etc and the stock unit becomes the limiting factor. However they usually develop some quirks with part throttle drivability and just don't drive quite as well when compared to the stock unit that performs flawlessly on these platforms beyond 600+ wheel HP from our experiences.
