Speedy Integra or exploder?

Only problem is that a v8 in a coupe (mustang) would be a WHOLE lot of insurance for a 17 year old. Im not even sure if my insurance company has insurance for a gt. A few questions.
1. How much would i be expected to pay for just a 302 swap and installation only? The price of a brand new 5.0 along with installation?
2. What kind of engine rebuilding parts would i need to make it go fast and how much are they and how much could i get them installed for?
3. What else would i need for my car if i did decide to put a v8 in it?
4. Would would be the total price of switching out a v6 and putting in a large v8? Considering i do all engine upgrades to the...say....351?

if you want to go fast in your explorer, add a nitrous system. They are safe, reliable, and the best bang for the buck (by far).

I have nitrous in my 96 explorer limited (V8 AWD). tonight, I just tested the 0-60 times with a g-tech meter. It ran 0-60 in 5.7 secs (4900 lbs) the only other mods I have are a cat-back exhaust and a k&n filter.

I just the price of the NOS EFI kit in jegs for $425 today.

No offense, Quadcam, but those G-tech meter things are pretty inaccurate. They can be about 1 second off. However, I'm glad to hear you're having fun with the spray. I decided to blow some cash and get the supercharger. Coming soon! BTW, congrats on your 100th post.

I am aware that the g-tech meter aren't perfect, but it is some sort of measurement. I have never seen a comparison of a g-tech to any other meter for 0-60, but I have tested the g-tech at the dragstrip.

the meter is fairly accurate on the 1/4 mile ET (within .1 or .2 seconds), but the g-tech is very optimistic on the 1/4 mile mph. The g-tech seem to be about 5 or 6 mph high.

The NOS kit is an easy bolt on. It is no harder than run wires for an amplifier. The only difficult part may be tapping into the fuel return line (to spike the fuel pressure when spraying). For the fuel reasons, I had a competent mustang speed shop do the install. They charged me $125 for the install. Plus, the have the experience when it comes to adjusting and setting up the appropriate jet sizes.

I believe that the NOS kit # 0-5115.

Being a college student. I was just saying a Explorer is a expensive to drive because the gas mileage. 30mpg is so much better then 16mpg and what you want to do to your explorer i'm guessing 12 mpg. I'm not saying ricers are better, but for a college student they are. But hey if you got money keep the explorer.
