Wellcome to the site

I would recommend the following mods:

cat back exhaust
KKM intake
switch to synthetic fluids
SCT Flasher

Good luck and keep on asking questions....

Da man has spoken, follow his lead and yee shall have every mod ever created, and they all work to perfection:)

These guys are right on the money. A solid list of mods :)

these are some of the mods i have found can you tell me if they add anything
k/n intake
thorttle body spacer
sct performance chip
high flow cats
dual exhaust
nitous(75-120hp)

i want to be in the 15's with out nitous do you think that is possible? maybe high 14's wit nitous

will lower gears help?

Have you actually tested one to determine your conclusion?

There was a post about acouple days ago that showed a dyno result of like 1hp with it on. hardly worth anything to me but hey if he wants to waste his money for 1hp more power to him.

Unless your making BIG horsepower, like supercharger, then you probally wont need hi-flow catalytic converters. Unless of course yours are clogged.

the 15s sound reasonable with all those mods w/o the nos, i think black magic is running high 14s, i don't know, don't quoat me on that right now. But thats a two door sport explorer w/ 4x4.

I wish you luck, but real world numbers are going to be hard to achieve.
Consider the following facts:
Lets say you can get your total wgt down to 4600 lbs(thats including you)
You will need to make 225 RWHP to run 15.9 in the 1/4
You will need to make 270 RWHP to run 14.9
Considering that your 01 has approx 165 RWHP, stock with an auto trannie.
You have a considerable amount of ponys to round up.
The above is based on 4600 lbs total wgt, I think your more like 4800

01s have 210 hp.

01s have 205 CRANK H.P, 02s have 210.Factor 20% drivetrain loss thru an auto trannie and you have RWHP

They will help in your acceleration and 1/4 mile time.
Your off the line time will improve, but your 1320 E/T will not.
YO Hartman, you still on this thread dude?

wait so my 01 explorer sport would be faster
that is a 2wd 4.0 sohc 5spd manual
(this is actually my wifes car) but she loves the sport trac so i think i could talk her in to trading me trucks

say these are the parts i want tell me if im at my 15 sec goal
mac intake
75mm maf
tb spacer
sct performance chip
jba headers
dual mangaflow exhaust

I ran a best of a 16.4 on reg fuel, with a performance reg fuel tune, with no other mods, full weight (3/4 tank of gas, spare, tailgate, factory tonneau, some of wifes junk in the back) and 220 lbs of me :)
Mid 15's is definitely possible with the right tuning, good air intake, off road y-pipe/high flow cat, catback exhaust, and weight reduction.
There is a guy on mysporttrac.com that has the intake, cat back, chip and a 75 shot and has gone a 14.9 or quicker with very little weight reduction.

The JBA headers have been dyno tested by a couple of the spottrac guys> total gain, 3 hp, 5ftlbs of torque after 3 hours worth of work, not worth it IMHO.
The TB spacer has been dyno tested as well, got 1hp, :thumbdwn:
The MAF might get you around 5 hp, but its the added throttle response that you will see.

first mods is the buy a 800 dollar car then pull the motor on your explorer. put pistons, rods, injectors and a turbo you should be able to get 300 or more. if not first mod is sct flasher.
