Squeaking Belt

I know have another issue. There is a belt that is squeaking. It only happens when I accelerate. With yesterdays coolant leak and giant puddle of rain I went through is it possible it just needs to dry? I used the car this morning for about an hour and the squeaking is still there. Any ideas what I should do?

By the way the squeaking never happened before yesterdays thermostat episode.

I tried everything... I even sprayed WD-40 on my squeaky serpentine belt.

Finally I bit the bullet and bought a new belt. Took me 5 minutes to replace and solved the problem.

Squeaky belts will drive ya nuts!

Yeah, around here SO many people drive cars that squeak like hell, not realizing its like a 5-10$ belt and 10 mins of your time!

How much are they? Ive honeslty never looked at one, I just figured they would probably be around 10$ lol my bad!

I agree. What’s so silly is that it’s such an EASY fix… buy a new belt!


@BrianDye - my serpentine belt was about $30. Only available from the dealer.
Best money I ever spent though! That noise will drive you buggy!
