Squeaking noise from the transmission

I just noticed squeaking noise from under the transmission of my 2009 V6 explorer. I showed it to two different transmission experts, one said its the transmission converter which needs to be replaced. The other said its the transmission pump.

The noise pattern changes when I switch from P to R to N to D (while the car is idle), but it doesn't go away.

I am confused. Have you guys experienced such noise from your explorers?

No, but I would post this over in the transmission section to see what those guys over there have to say. Personally I would just start with a fluid change to see if that helps if you have never had it changed.

Squeaking noise or a whistling noise? I ask because there is a known issue similar to what you describe that is only cosmetic, it doesn't affect the performance of the tranny for the 5R55S. Check this TSB notice and how do diagnose it. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=246701

The fix is a new separator plate that my dealer want's about $550 to do, but they say it's only cosmetic...
