Recently there has been a squeaking noise coming from the engine. At first i thought it was the belt, but it looks like its in good condition. I had a helper try to identify where the noise was coming from, and he said the power steering pulley. That seems odd to me since it is a pulley with 3 bolts. How can I for sure conclusively identify where the noise is coming from?

Remove the belt and check ALL pulleys for binding. If no problem found, run the cold engine for less than one minute and
listen for internal engine noises. If still no resolution, check the harmonic balancer. Most common causes of rotational engine squeaks are the idler pulley and belt tensioner, but there are four more pulleys and the harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley).
