Greetings to all,

I have noticed that my break pedal is squeaky when I engage it. This never seem to happen until after I put the new hardware (pads and rotors) on the Explorer. Any ideas what is happening?

Thx!

Dana, I know some installs will have some noise until things wear in, especially if the protective chemical coating on the surface of the rotor was not wiped off prior to install. It won't hurt anything, just make some noise for a little while.

Unless it's a major constant noise that doesn't get better as the pads/rotors break in, I wouldn't worry about it yet.

Need to know from Dana- after re-reading, the subject says pads, the post says pedal...

I still need coffee.. :D

Yeah that was a non coffee mistake on my part. Yeah, it is the pedal that is squeaky. I'll try the WD40, just very strange it started a few weeks after the brake job.

Thank you good sirs for your responses.

WD-40 is not a lubricant, use lithium grease
