I have this squealing noise coming from my subs whenever my car is turned on. I just got a new head unit cause my old one broke, and all of the wiring is the same as before. Except now i have this REALLY annoying sound coming out of my subs. Whenever i accelerate the noise is very high pitched and then you cant hear it anymore. Also, when i turn the car off the noise goes away. I am wondering what may be causing this and how i can fix it. My whole system was professionally installed, so i dont know where they went wrong. I'd appreciate the help.....thanx

Take it back and have them look at it. The noise is usually called alternator noise, or you have a 'ground loop'. There are all kinds of troubleshooting tips on the web about it. Do you know where your ground wire is for your sub amp? Try cleaning that connection, make sure it is still good. If it is, move it, that may help.

None of the other speakers in your car make the noise? Try unplugging the RCA's to the amp for your subs and see if the sound stays, or goes away. If it goes away it could be your HU, or if you have a crossover/processor it could be that.

Don't go buy a 'noise suppressor' for $15, they usually don't fix the problem.

Your alternator could be having problems, or I've also heard that bad plug wires can cause it too.

Your best bet is to search the web for detailed troubleshooting steps. I'll see what I can find.

yeah i got squeeling from my crossover... it was more of little blurches from the subs, and not a squeel, more of a screech from the doors. well im sending it back and getting it replaced with another item... i dont know if it was just defective, or if thats how all the crossovers were.

yeah and the RCA's seem to play a big role in it also, i was getting interference through my RCA just for it being over the electrical behind the HU, i should of taped it off to ensure that it wont get any interference
