Got this squealing noise that sounds like it coming from under the car. To be more precise it sounds like its coming from the front of the Gear box. Cant pin point it. Its intermittent, stays on for a minute or so then is gone for a while. Thought it might be the Cam position sensor but that is atop the engine. This noise is more prominent underneath the rear of the engine front of box.

Sounds like a loose or wet fan belt kind of noise. It does increase the pace when i bring the revs up but it doesnt scream like a belt.

Disconnect your belt and see if it stops.

Mine did that when I first got it. The engine was too dirty to work on so I sprayed it off at the car wash. It quit after that. I hope its that easy for you.

I have had the belts checked and all ok there.

What sort of noise did you have?

I couldn't tell if it was a belt slipping or a bearing in a pulley. It's been 6 months and its still quiet. My guess is that there was Greece on belt line.
