I have a SRS code 42 on my Ford Explorer 2003 XLT. This means a fault is in the air bag circuit. I doubt if it is the sensor behind the bumper, but if I take it to my dealership they have the reputation and experience with me to replace it without trying something cheaper first.
I let my wife drive the vehicle for 2 days this past week, and we joke that she broke it. No, she didn't crash it. She has shorter legs, so she moved the seat over 6 inches and adjusted the steering wheel.
Given SRS code 42 could my problem be in the wiring harness under the driver seat? How can I check it?
