Hello,
I have a 01 XLS. I recently cleaned the interior and developed a problem. The airbag light flashes 3 times then 7 times. It cycles this for a minute and then stays on. I am guessing that it is code 37 but, I am not sure. Can anyone help define this and is it possible that it is related to the vaccuming of the interior under the drivers seat?

Four possible causes for that lamp fault code:

B1997 37 23 Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Shorted to Ground GO to Pinpoint Test Z.
B1996 37 25 Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Shorted to Battery or Ignition GO to Pinpoint Test AA.
B1998 37 27 Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Resistance High GO to Pinpoint Test AB.
B1999 37 29 Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Resistance Low GO to Pinpoint Test AC.


I'd start by looking for loose connections under the dash. It's not likely related to the vacuuming under the seat, just an odd coincidence.
