I'm looking to buy a gibson cat-back system for my X and was wondering if the extra money for the stainless steel system is really worth it or not....thanks in advance for the help.

I would have your local exhaust shop make a custome cat bacl for you.

I have had many cars/trucks, some with 300 k plus miles and I have never had to replace an exhaust.

Good luck......

Hey Al do they salt your roads in the winter? I'm not sure how much salt makes it to your roads from the ocean, but I doubt if it is as much as the salt they used to put down on our roads in the winter when I lived in Ohio. I put an Exhaust Tech cat-back system on my Ranger when I lived in Ohio. It came with a million mile warranty but I'm not sure what it was made of. I do remember it being painted black though. After two years the entire thing was covered with rust. If it would have been stainless steel like my Borla is there wouldn't have been a spec of rust on it. I'm not sure if a local exhaust place would use stainless steel or not though since I never looked into it from that aspect.

MOST places dont do weld up stainless because you have to use nickel rod to weld on it, and you have to know what you are doing. Well you dont have to but it would be pointless to have an all stainless system with non stainless welds that rust.

Stainless is worth the $$$$.
Find a shop that CAN do it for you, it;s usually MCUH cheaper then buying a bolt in kit thats a PITA to bolt in.......

Robert, never thought about salt on the roads, never seen it and we sure as hell don't need it, however, we do get a lot of salt on the beach roads from spray.

We put salt on french fries not roads.....

I lived out in 'salt' lake city UT for one winter and it tore my exhaust up!! %$#@^%!

Humm, lets see.... salt on the roads ( and not the fries ), cold, ice, snow, winter, humm.... all perfect reasons to MOVE.

Hmm lets see.....no mounains, tons of old people, too much mud, huge bugs, too close to Cuba, way too hot, way too humid, all great reasons for you Florida people to STAY THERE!!!!!!!!!!!

hahahaha just kidding....some people actually like snow, and cold, and snow skiing and snowboarding, and the "mountain" way of life. There is an old saying, "if you dont like the outdoors, dont move to Colorado"

Colorado has more sunny days a year (Denver) then any other place in the US. I can go snow skiing and waterskiing in the same day. I can drive up to the Rockies to places in my truck and almost SEE Florida. I dont have to wait forever everywhere I go because some retired people are in front of me going SLOW, oh and how is the traffic down there in FL?

Come visit the Midwest and you will move here, better yet, dont, we'll just send pictures.......

Is there any 4 wheeling in Florida that isnt just trying to go through mud?

haha!

I agree other than the fast paced traffic. The only time that happens is in the boonies. I-70, I-25, I-225, Denver, C.Springs.

During the day it is mayhem, and the traffic is horrible.

COLORADO!! Go Broncos!!

It is funny to think that if I pee in a river, chances are...well we all know the addage of Shi* rolls downhill..

Joking!

Al, I think 410 Fortune has a point. I live very close to the Sierra Nevadas and Lake Tahoe and I love where I live. Except during summer when it is over 100 degrees. I would rather have coldness and storms anyday over blistering hot days with bad air quality, high chances of skin cancer, and wild fires. And they don't salt roads in California, just french fries.

Lake Tahoe is beautiful.

Ever do any wakeboarding out there?

Oh OH and Squa Valley kicks!!!!!!!!!!!!
