Got a few questions I`d hope you would be able to help me out with.
The gearbox I got is a A4LD from a 93 Scorpio Cosworth, it`s supposed to be the strongest A4LD on the european marked. Don`t know to much about it other than it got more clutches than the ones delivered to car`s with less engine.
I just made a post on the car, you can find it here:

The car is used for bracket racing every once in a while, but the converter makes it realy sluggish of the line. My brake stallspeed is betwen 16-1700rpm, no good for it`s use.. Now I got my hands on a stock converter from a 98 explorer 4.0 (5r55e) at the back it reads 97 HFD.
Can anyone tell me the aprox. stallspeed on this converter? Engine makes 195 horse/203ft/lbs stock, mine a little more. I wonder if it will be worth the work putting it in.
The converters look the same exept the lenght of the pilot, but that should not be any problem.
Even if the A4LD got a bad reputation, it have survived all my abuse and it`s still working perfect. I got two southern norwegian street legal chamionships (2007-08) and the national of 2009, no mean to brag, just picture the use. Got a 36 row B&M cooler on it.
Plan is to get the turbo up and running next season, the engine should put out betwen 320-360 horse, with a even higher torque. I don`t expect the stock A4LD to survive it.
So it is with great interest I`ve been reading the post`s about rebuilding the A4LD by Glacier911 and the "frankentranny" by Brain. I got a few questions on that subject, but first of all I`d like to know the brake stallspeed on the 98` 4.0 converter...
