For the last several days, when I start my Explorer it sounds like the belts are squealing. It only last for 2-3 seconds each time. Then yesterday, we turned off the car for a matter of 10 minutes and when we went back out to start it...it wouldnt start. It made the sound like the engine was already running and we tried to start it again. Then after sitting for 20 minutes or so it decided to start again.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Update

It ended up dying completely an dI had to have it towed to the shop. Prior to it dying I went to a few shops and was told it was the flywheel. I had that replaced as well as the serpintine belt. It is still making the squealing noise and the end of the start and it still only last 2-3 seconds. It starts most of the time...it hasnt started twice since we picked it up from the shop almost 48 hours ago. The guy that worked on the car said he tested the solenoid and it was working fine. But IDK. PLEASE HELP.

Mine had the same problem, it made a screeching noise after each start. I could turn the key on to start very briefly after the engine was running and it would make exactly the same noise. I replaced the starter, no more screech noise. Starter was $130 at O'Reillys.
